Process control of a distillery
Sejkora, Martin ; Kopečný, Lukáš (referee) ; Veselý, Libor (advisor)
This master‘s thesis deals with the design of a control system for a distillation column. It deals with the issue of distillate production and acquaints the reader with the necessary knowledge that is necessary to understand the purpose of the work. The practical part of the work presents a specific distillation column, the means for its control and the method of implementation of the control system, then the visualization of the control system and the method of control. Part of the work is the evaluation of the results and benefits of the work.
Production of ethanol as an automotive fuel from renewable materials
Doležal, Martin ; Kropáč, Jiří (referee) ; Dlabaja, Tomáš (advisor)
The thesis deals with ethanol production using renewable energy ressources. It describes various manufacturing processes and the usage of respective input materials. It researches utilization of ethanol as engine fuel both as a mixture with conventional fuels and also as the principal component. Consequentionally, it proposes a design of combustion engines suitable for this fuel. Evaluation of advantages and disadvantages of substituting petrol products with bioethanol is provided. The thesis also includes energy and economic evaluation.
Fuels from Biomass.
Poskočil, Milan ; Píštěk, Václav (referee) ; Rauscher, Jaroslav (advisor)
Bachelor´s thesis deals with the study of the status quo use of fuels derived from biomass for automotive engines and their prospects. The goal of this work is processing the inventory of motor fuels derived from biomass, their utilization and illustrate the developments in this field. The work is focused mainly on the situation and developments in the Czech Republic.
Oil fractions as a combustion engine fuel
Rejnuš, Miroslav ; Kaplan, Zdeněk (referee) ; Píštěk, Václav (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis focuses on the mechanisms of oil production, their composition, processing technology and usage in the automotive industry. The theories of oil production are contained in the first part of the thesis together with the composition and description of the distillation process. Following part deals with individual fractions used in automotive industry, such as gasoline and diesel. The last part includes alternative fuels, especially their history, production or composition.
The use of alternative fuels in the Air Transport
Dvorský, David ; Šplíchal, Miroslav (referee) ; Nastálek, Ondřej (advisor)
The objectives of this thesis is an overview of the available aviation fuel and possible alternatives. Evaluation of the applicability of alternative fuels in aviation. Furthermore, to assess the overall readiness of each technology across the aviation, from general aviation through public air transportation to transport helicopters. Evaluate the economic situation in each sector and determine the best alternative fuel option.
Impact of PHA accumulation on stress resistance of bacteria against disinfection agents
Krupičková, Kristýna ; Fryšová, Eva (referee) ; Obruča, Stanislav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the influence of acumulation of PHA balancing on the resistence of bacteria against desinfecting means. Two bacterial strains, PHA accumulation Cupriavidus necator H16 and its mutant strain insoluble PHA synthase Cupriavidus necator PHB-4 were used as model microorganisms. These bacteria were exposed to three different concentration of three desinfecting means (etanol, savo and ajatin). The viability of bacteria by the action of disinfectants was determined by the plate method and by the flow cytometry. The influence of desinfecting means against bacteria was examined by the broth dilution method which rested in measurement of absorbance over time. Agar diffusion method was the last one technique use. The results show that PHA production positively aids cell defence against desinfectants because bacterial strain Cupriavidus necator H16 is more resistant than its mutant strain Cupriavidus necator PHB-4. Of the free selected disinfectants, ajatin is the most effective.
Production and characterization of mead produced by different technologies
Kilian, David ; Vítová, Eva (referee) ; Pořízka, Jaromír (advisor)
This diploma thesis is focused on the technology of producing mead from the chosen kind of honey with a variety of sugar concentrations with the use of modern producing technological procedures with the cold and hot process. The theoretical part is focused on the history of mead and its technological development. It focuses, in detail, on modern large scale technologies – both cold and also the hot process. In the practical part of the thesis, the production of samples of mead with various sugar concentrations from three kinds of honey with the use of two technological processes (hot and cold process) was conducted firstly. Secondly, the characteristics of the samples were conducted from the view of the volume of HMF – Hydroxymethylfurfural, ethanol, glucose, fructose, the chosen organic acids and elements with sensory analysis. The prepared samples were compared and discussed concerning differences to find out the differences of the use of the two manufacturing technologies (cold and hot process), the chosen kinds of honey and the influence of sugar before the fermentation on the final product.
Bioetanol and Drive of Automobile
Smeták, Pavel ; Kloss, Ondřej (referee) ; Kaplan, Zdeněk (advisor)
Content of my diploma thesis focuses on identification of properties and usability of nascent fuel for automotive use. It is a bio-ethanol which can be produced from renewable sources. The heart of this work is to develop methodology of experimental trials in connection with utilization of bio-ethanol E85 as a fuel for vehicle combustion engines. The aim is to perform tests with E85 and BA95 fuels in engine testing room of ÚADI FSI, to compare these trials amongst themselves and to analyze obtained results. Subsequent part of diploma thesis covers overview of general usage of bio-ethanol in road transportation.
Production of ethanol from renewable materials
Čmaradová, Miroslava ; Beňo, Zdeněk (referee) ; Houdková, Lucie (advisor)
This Bachelor thesis focuses on the production of ethanol from renewable resources, in particular alcoholic fermentation. Briefly mentioned is the waste legislation. Closer described the materials from which the ethanol produced and can be broken down properties and behaviour of ethanol. Briefly describes the history of the production of ethanol. It is further discussed the current form of the production and use of ethanol.
Fuel for internal combustion engines
Vrbický, Jiří ; Jedelský, Jan (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
This thesis is concerned with basic features of fuels for internal consumption engines, especially their influence on thermal efficiency. It also introduces dividing of fuels and their compare in ecologic, economic and technologic side. It is concerned convectional fuels (gasoline, diesel oil) and alternative fuels (nature gas, bottled gas, hydrogen, biodiesel, biogas, methanol and ethanol).
